This weeks guest is Anatoly Kudryavitsky.

Anatoly (Anthony) Kudryavitsky was born in 1954 in Moscow of a Polish father and half-Irish mother. Educated at Moscow Medical University, he later studied Irish history and cultural heritage. Having lived in Russia and Germany, he now lives in Dublin and teaches creative writing to aspiring authors from Ireland’s minority ethnic communities. In 2005, Goldsmith Press published his first collection entitled Shadow of Time, followed by his second collection Morning at Mount Ring (Doghouse Books, 2007). His anthology of contemporary Russian poetry in English translation entitled A Night in the Nabokov Hotel was published in 2006 by Dedalus. In the same year he founded the Irish Haiku Society, of which he is chairman. He is also editor of Shamrock Haiku Journal (http://www.freewebs.com/shamrockhaiku). His poems and short stories were published in magazines nationally and internationally, and have been translated into nine languages. In 2003 he was awarded the Edgeworth Prize for poetry, in 2005 shortlisted for the Robert Graves Poetry Award. He also won a few intermational awards for his haiku poems.

This weeks guest poet is Pauline Fayne.

Pauline Fayne founded the Clothesline Writer’s Group in the 1980’s, publishing two anthologies ‘Round Peg’ and ‘Finders Keepers’ from Clothesline Community Press. Pauline, through her association with Alternative Entertainments throughout the 1980’s and beyond, contributed enormously to Tallagh’s literary life. Her most recent poetry collections are ‘Killer of Fishes’(2001) and ‘I’m Fine Really’(2005), both from Stonebridge.

This weeks guest is Catherine Ann Cullen.

Catherine Ann Cullen’s first collection of poetry, A Bone in My Throat, was published by Doghouse in July 2007. Catherine Ann was born in Drogheda, Co Louth. She is a graduate of the M.Phil in Creative Writing at Trinity College Dublin. Her work has been published in The Doghouse Book of Irish Ballads, two Sunday Miscellany collections, The Stinging Fly, College Green and The Sunday Tribune, and her poetry was used in the play, The Pandora Effect, by Gary Carter (London, 2003).She is a regular contributor to RTE Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany and A Living Word, and has presented work at the Kilkenny Arts Festival, the Brendan Kennelly Festival, the Poetry Ireland Introductions series, the Between the Lines Festival, and Belfast Young at Arts. Her two children’s books, The Magical, Mystical, Marvelous Coat (2001) and Thirsty Baby (2003) have been published by Little, Brown in the US. The first won a gold award for Poetry and Folklore from the American Parents Association. She has also written two stories for the RTE series Fiction 15, and one for the collection Stories for Jamie (Blackwater Press, 2002). Her animation work includes a bawdy verse-script for Rowlandson Rides Again (Moving Still, 2006), an adult short on the 18th C artist Thomas Rowlandson. She has made documentaries and a series about food for RTE Radio 1 as well as producing current affairs, arts and features. She lives with her partner Harry and daughter Stella Nora in Kimmage, Dublin 12.
