This weeks guest poet is Liz Gallagher.
Liz Gallagher is from Donegal and lives in the Canary Islands, Spain. She has degrees in Education and Computer Science and teaches English language in the Aula de Idiomas of Las Palmas University. At present she is doing doctoral research work on online learning and teaching.
Liz started writing about 4 years ago. She has poetry, fiction and non-fiction work published or forthcoming in The Wonderful World of Worders Anthology from Guildhall Press, Dead Drunk Dublin, The Pedestal Magazine, The Stinging Fly, Magma, Nth Position, The SHOp, Quartsillini, and The Oxfam Calendar 2009 and others. She is the featured poet in this winter’s (08/09) issue of The Stinging Fly. She was selected for the Best New Poets 2007 Anthology from Virginia University and she has been nominated twice for the Best on the Net anthology. She is also one of six winners for the Oxfam Ireland Poetry Calendar 2009. Her first full collection, titled The Wrong Miracle, will be published by Salt Publishing this year.
