White House Poetry Revival

The weeks guest is poet Michael O'Loughlin.

Michael O'Loughlin was born in Dublin in 1958 and studied at Trinity College Dublin. Since then he has lived mainly in Denmark, Spain and the Netherlands, but has now returned to Ireland. He has published many collections of poetry, the most recent of which is Another Nation: New and Selected Poems. He has also published many essays and reviews, as well as translations, including a collection by the Dutch poet Gerrit Achterberg. For many years he worked as a screenwriter, and his most recent film is Snapshots (2003). In 2006 he spent a month in Riga as part of the Sealines Project. He is currently Writer in Residence in Galway City.
