White House Poetry Revival

Celebrating five years of Wednesday night poetry
A CD chronicling five years of the Wednesday night White House poetry sessions will be launched next Wednesday 10th December in the city. Earlier this year, Limerick's poetry lovers celebrated five years of gathering on a Wednesday night in the White House pub, in Glentworth Street, to read poetry.

Well known Sliabh Luachra traditional and contemporary poet, Donal
O’Siodhachain from Kiskeam in County Cork, was declared the new
All!Ireland Live Performance Champion Poet for 2008 following the
recent national finals hosted by The White House in Limerick city on
Nov. 12th, last. Finalists, who had been selected in contests involving
over one hundred and fifty poets nationwide, were present there from
Cork, Dublin, Belfast, Armagh and Galway among other places. Donal
has been associated with The White House Poets for some years and
was one of two poets representing Limerick in the contest.
Dona will be launching a special collection of 40 poems,
“A Nice Kind of Madness” celebrating The Traditional Performing Arts
