This weeks guest poet is Michael Coady

Michael Coady was born in 1939 in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, where he lives and has worked as a teacher, musician and writer. Winner of the Patrick Kavanagh Award for poetry in 1979, he has published three collections with Gallery Press: Two for a Woman, Three for a Man (1980), Oven Lane (1987) and All Souls (1997), an illustrated compendium of poetry and prose which has attracted particular notice for its unusual format and bridging of genres. In addition to short story, verse, and the long title poem, it includes a series of translations from Gaelic poets of East Munster and an extended prose memoir of human destinies involved in emigration to America. Full Tide, a miscellany, was published by Relay Books in 1999.
Michael Coady has won a number of short story prizes, among them the Listowel Writers' Week Award and the RTE Francis MacManus short story competition. He has lectured in the U.S.A under the auspices of the Irish American Cultural Institute and has also retraced historical ties between southeast Ireland and Newfoundland with the assistance of an Arts Council Bursary. He has directed numerous writing workshops, broadcast on radio and television and given readings at arts events in Ireland and abroad. He was elected a member of Aosdána in 1998.

The White House Poetry Revival has being going now for three years. Every Wednesday the famous old world bar is transformed into a centre of culture as poets recite their latest work.
