This weeks guest poet is Joe Horgan.


Joseph Horgan was born in Birmingham, England, of Irish parents. A past winner of the Patrick Kavanagh Award. His work has appeared on RTÉ radio and television. He lives in Co Cork and is married with three children. He writes a weekly column for The Irish Post. His first collection Slipping Letters Beneath The Sea was recently published by Doghouse Books.

In association with Poetry Ireland the White House Poetry Revival welcomes Tipperary poet Patrick Moran.

PATRICK MORAN was born in Templetuohy, County Tipperary, where he still lives. He works as a post-primary teacher. His poems have been widely published in the leading poetry outlets. He has won the Gerard Manley Hopkins poetry prize; he has also been a prizewinner at Listowel Writers’ Week and the 2008 Eist Poetry Competition. In 1990, he was shortlisted for the Hennessy/ Sunday Tribune poetry award. His work is featured in anthologies, including the inaugural Forward anthology, The Stony Thursday Book and The Best of Irish Poetry 2007. His first collection, THE STUBBLE FIELDS, was published by Dedalus Press in 2001. He will read from his second collection, Green, which was recently published.

This weeks guests is Janice Fitzpatrick Simmons.

Janice Fitzpatrick-Simmons was born in 1954 and educated in the USA. She has her M.A. from The University of New Hampshire and was The Assistant Director of The Robert Frost Place. She was a long time resident of Northern Ireland and is now living in Donegal. She is the co-founder of The Poets' House and programme director for the M.A. in Creative Writing at The Poets' House. She is now head of Creative Writing at Waterford Institute of Technology. She is widely published with poems appearing in Stand, Force 10, Janus, Writing Women, Cuirt Journal, The Irish University Graduate Review, The New Orleans Review, Fortnight, US1, The University of California Review. She appears regularly in The Honest Ulsterman and Poetry Ireland. She has read at The Irish Festival in Brighton, The University of Antwerp, The University of Mons Hainault, Notre Dame University Brussels, The University of Delaware, Vermont College, Brown University Bookshop, Bracknell Arts Centre, Reading Festival, Lancaster University, Bewleys Dublin, Eigse na Cuige, Cork, Letterkenny Arts Centre, Wexford Arts Centre, Dundalk Arts Festival, The Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, Queens University, Belfast etc.. Her first book Settler was published in 1995 by Salmon Poetry. Her second Starting at Purgatory in 2000 also from Salmon, her third The Bowspirit from Lagan Press in 2005, her fourth book from Salmon is due out in May this year.
